Researcher biography
Swastika (she/her) is a doctoral candidate at the School of Communication and Arts at UQ. Her project is at the intersection of communication (online and offline), sustainable tourism and environmental management. It explores the role of communication in ecotourism and effects of social media on communities affected by tourism and climate change. With prior experiences in consulting and the start-up ecosystem, she is currently interested in platform affordances, participatory and improved climate change communication to name a few. Future goals lie in translation of research to evidence policy and Social Impact Assessments.
