This October, the Centre for Communication and Social Change (CfCSC) was pleased to receive two Indian visitors from the University of Hyderabad (UoH). Professor Kanchan K. Malik and Professor Vasuki Belavadi came to Brisbane as the next step on the 2024-2026 SPARC project funded by the Indian Government (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration). Their UQ partners on this SPARC project were CfCSC Director, Associate Professor Elske van de Fliert, and CfCSC Principal Affiliate, Associate Professor Pradip Thomas.
During their visit, the Indian scholars joined the panel of experts and teaching staff presenting to students of COMU7102 Foundations of Communication for Social Change and COMU2311 Communication for Social Change. The contributions of Profs. Mailk and Belavadi enhanced the international scope and practical field experiences shared with students.
The visitors collaborated with their UQ counterparts to work towards the monograph which will be a key output of the project, as well as visiting community radio stations and researchers elsewhere in Brisbane.
You can read more about Profs. Belavadi and Malik's visit on the UoH website, and find more information about the SPARC collaboration on the Centre's own website.
